12 animal designs on a large format page, to fill with stickers to make an elegant image.(Although the product information currently says there are 15 designs, there are only 12.)This book is similar to the "Paint-by-sticker" series - you fill in a page by finding the labelled sticker to fit in its designed spot. There are some differences that make it superior in my opinion. (I used Paint by Sticker Masterpieces: Re-create 12 Iconic Artworks One Sticker at a Time! for my comparison.- First, Animetrics page is larger: 10" x 14.5" versus 9" x 12".- Second, as other reviewers noted, Animetrics has a colored border around each sticker position. This allows you not to worry as much about placing the stickers exactly and tightly together (as they seem to warp a little, this is not as easy as it sounds), because the colored border will be a background for any small gap. In fact the images are designed for the stickers to be slightly separated in a mosaic-like effect. Don't think that this makes it too easy though! You still need to be somewhat careful putting the sticker in the middle of its spot so no white shows through.- Third: the stickers are just numbered, so I found finding them easier than the Letter-number approach. (There can be hundreds of stickers for a single page,)- Fourth, the stickers have multiple colors on them, not just one. So the designs can be more visually complex without multiplying the stickers. It's another reason why there are colored borders on the background page, so you can see how to orient the sticker correctly. You can reposition them but it may mean they are wrinkled or creased..- Finally I find the designs to be just more elegant, both in the central image and in the choice of the solid color backgrounds.Only the sticker pages are perforated. All the image pages are single-sided. The pages are held together by a string binding so you can cut the string and disassemble it easily for hanging the images or framing them. Label the sticker pages if you do take the book apart before you finish all the design - the sticker pages are in the same order as the image pages but have no titles.
I really like this book. The stickers are easy to lay down as the spots for them have a border of that color. Each page is pretty quick and easy to do. I would recommend for anyone with fine motor skills as about half of the stickers are small. Some reviews said that the stickers wouldn’t come up once placed, but I found that if I lifted it immediately, they came up just fine. My critiques would be that the stickers are very thin, and they are easy to rip if you aren’t careful. The sticker pages at the back do not have titles or anything, so you have to look at the background color to know which page to use. While the edges of the sticker pages have tear lines, in between the pages do not which means you have to cut them or flip back and forth. Also, the animal pages do not have tear edges which means they are hard to remove if you want to frame them. I also think a spiral binding might be helpful in the future. Overall, a fun book and fun activity. I recommend it.
Similar to the paint by sticker series of books, but a bit better. The stickers are fairly easy to place but the outline in the picture is thicker in color, and also color coordinated to the color of the stickers side where it's to be placed. So it's a bit easier to get a resulting picture without any white showing. The finished picture also looks better to me as well. One thing, these stickers do not remove easy once placed. Overall a pretty fun and challenging activity-something different!
A simple fix would win this book 5 stars! All good except... Please arrange the stickers separately!! You pick an image & tear out the matching sticker-page(s) to begin... BUT you better hold on and not loose that sticker page once you're finished, because a quarter of the page is other stickers that belong to a different animal image! It's like they tried to save space by sharing the page. I'd rather see an empty blank space than have to keep track of my half used page! Kinda forces you to go in their order instead of skipping around for fear of loosing the page. OTHER THAN THAT BOOL IS GREAT! can't wait for more color by sticker books to emerge these are fun and quick.
Love, love, love this book. So far, have tried 4 other paint by sticker books, but this one is superior to the others. What sets this book apart, is the colored borders around the tile placements making the finished product more finished, elegant. Once I started the designs, couldn't stop until the book was completed. Have been unable to find additional books in this same format. Please, please more books like this one!!!
I have tried several brands of sticker-by-number books, and this is one of my favorites. The stickers are much more detailed and many have more than one color. They are easy enough to peel off without ripping, and they stick better than some other brands. The only major issue I have is that only the sticker pages have the easy-to-tear perforated pages (which still were NOT easy to tear out without almost tearing into many of the stickers near the edges), and I had to carefully cut out the pages with the animal pictures, resulting in many of them being crooked along the edge since some of them have the edges of the images very close to the page bindings. A few of the stickers did not quite match the size of the placement area, but they were generally a better fit than some of the other books I have purchased before. This is still a great book for anyone who likes sticker-by-numbers, though it could be better. In my opinion, the actual pictures themselves are nicer quality and have better colors than some of the more plain, simplistic images featured in other similar series of books.
